The Outreach Campus of the prestigious University of Mysore (UOM), Spectrum Institute of Science and Technology was established in 2002 with the idea of providing cutting edge technology training to the Sri Lankan youth. Spectrum takes pride in being the first private institute to introduce Undergraduate courses in Bio Informatics and Biotechnology.
 Today Spectrum with 10 year credibility has inspired hundreds of students to reach out to their dream careers. Currently Spectrum is a partner of one of India’s most prestigious A+ State universities - The University of Mysore. Being a Commonwealth member university the UoM has many international centers where they offer their degree to a global audience.
Spectrum offers wide range of programmes from Biotechnology, Microbiology and Biochemistry, Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science to various combination degrees including Psychology, English Literature, History, Sociology and Journalism.
The unique feature of UoM degree programmes are that they are all combined degrees where the students get wide range yet related subjects.
Spectrum students are trained in all laboratory work at the laboratory located on campus, and are also exposed to industrial training with leading science and research organizations. Our past students have successfully gone to complete their Masters, Doctorates as well as Post-Doctorate studies in local and reputed foreign universities.
Spectrum believes in treating each student with individual care and takes pride in capacity building and professional development. In this effort many student volunteer organizations function within the campus where the ideal platform is created for the students to test their abilities in project management, community service and their subject related assignments. Hence we have success stories of many students who participate in global conferences, summits and even those who acquire prestigious scholarships for their masters because of the exposure and extracurricular activities they perform while studying.
