Kingswood opened the season on a winning note when they beat the Antonians by 30 points (1 Goal, 4 Tries, 1 Penalty) to 15 (3 Tries) at Nittawela.
At half time the winners led 10-5. Centre Chatura Piyasena caused the defense a few problems and was able to touch down twice. Flankers Ruvin Ariyaratne, fly half Ravibdu Kumara and winger Chintaka Kumara were the other try scorers. Full back Reza Mohammed put over two conversions. Skipper Panduka Amunugama (2) and S. Sinoshan touched down for the Antonians.
The losers had a powerful pack but this was outweighed by the Kingswood backs who were quite superb. The latter created one try, but they capitalized on Antonian mistakes to score the others.
