CBL Samaposha’s Dinana Daruwo Facebook learning platform was recently launched to support the development of young children during the COVID-19 lockdown period.
Working with child psychologists, nutritionists and educators, the platform aimed to keep young minds active and engaged while also helping children be healthy and happy, CBL said in media release.
This digital platform was launched to address growing concerns of parents across Sri Lanka on how to engage children in learning during lockdown and cope with the disruptions to lives and access to nutritious food, the fear caused by the pandemic and fear for the health of loved ones that affected a child’s wellbeing.
This platform provided a social-emotional learning platform to help children and parents understand the importance of routines and consistency for balanced health and wellbeing, effective family communication, effective nutrition habits and, engaged children in learning activities with the participation of experts like child psychologist Giselle Dass and nutritionist D. H. Liyanage.
The popular Samaposha Dinana Daruwo programme was conducted at preschools and schools with educators and experts on child mental health and nutrition and, by launching the platform on the Samaposha Facebook page, the brand was able to continue supporting children to learn and to build better nutrition and mental health habits for the lockdown period and after, the release said.
