Colombo equities start month on gains

The Colombo equities started the month of October on Thursday on gains, spurring fresh hopes for the capital market after last month's bloodbath, analysts said. On a healthy daily turnover of Rs, 1.4 billion by 1 pm, the main All Share Index was up by 0.44 per cent to record 7,082.24 with the S&P gaiNING by 0.32 per cent to show 3,838.36.
