‘Kaasi Waasi’: Imperial Talkies presents another entertaining movie

Following the immense success of two earlier movies ‘Sikuru Hathe’ and ‘5 Samath’, Imperial Talkies is ready to launch its third cinematic venture ‘Kaasi Waasi’. 

Interestingly the director of ‘Sikuru Hathe’ Giriraj Kaushalya and the director of ‘5 Samath’ Jayaprakash Sivagurunadhan have come together to make the third movie of Imperial Talkies. 

While Giriraj has scripted and screenplay written, the director of ‘Kaasi Waasi’ is Jayaprakash. 

The muhurath ceremony for the latest movie of the Imperial Talkies was held recently where the cast, the crew and many other film enthusiasts joined the ceremonial start of another entertaining movie in the Sri Lanka’s film industry. ‘Kaasi Waasi’ is to feature Giriraj Kawushalya, Sarath Kothalawala, Rodny Warnakula, Priyantha Senevirathna, Gihan Fernando, Sampath Jayaweera, Sangeeth Prabhu, Lakshmi Damayanthi, Amandya Uthpali and Nirosha Thalagala. 

The film revolves around a funeral parlour which is named after its owner Mr. Amarabandu. There are three employees at Amarabandu Funeral parlour, embalmer who is called ‘Bass Unnahe’ his assistant Pinthu and the driver Raththa, the three who always upset the smooth functioning of the funeral parlour. Amarabandu has talkative daughter and calm and peaceful wife. Amarabandu’s daughter is in love with Saranga, a playful young man. 

When Amarabandu funeral parlour is making continuous losses, Amarabandu’s wife requests Vishwakarma, a son of a relative who has just returned from abroad to develop the business. Vishwakarma who had studied abroad tries to apply what he had learnt to Amarabandu’s funeral parlour in a Sri Lankan village. “Kaasi Waasi’ continues with many twists and turns. 

Behind the screen director of photography is Thusitha Anuradha and Prabhath Darshana, assistant director is Jayantha Aberathna, art director is Manoj Wickramasinghe, production manager is Dhammika Gunasena, make up by Wasana Bandara Wijekoon and the editor is Ajith Ramanayake. Anuradha B. Rekawa and Sri Lal Wickramage produce ‘Kaasi Waasi’ for Imperial Talkies.
