The Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC) will to hold a prize giving ceremony to award students who participated in a debating contest in line with the world wildlife day.
The wildlife day celebrations would be held on March 03 and themed as Use of Digital Innovation for Wildlife Conservation.
The Wildlife Department had selected the Polonnaruwa Wildlife Zone which has the highest number of cases Human Elephant Conflict to carry out their wildlife day programmes.
An Inter school debating contest would be held within Polonnaruwa District parallel to the wildlife day. The prize giving ceremony would be held on March 05 at the National Wildlife Research and training center at Giritale.
The main lecture at the event would be delivered by Senior Professor at the Open University Saminda Fernando.
