Bavarian goodies at Hilton's 'Oktoberfest'

Features

Entering Hilton’s annual “Oktoberfest” on Thursday November 09, we were flooded with the essence of food and camaraderie that goes into making this German Food and Beer Festival an unforgettable affair.

Held in a mammoth tent, we were serenaded with great hospitality,  a live oompah band and the enticing aroma of  scrumptious cuisine A menu hangs off the side of the tent depicting the generous beverages they have to offer. However, majority of the tables seemed to remain authentic to the festival atmosphere owning their very own Carlsberg beer tower. Scoring the range of delicacies ladled starting from a selection of fresh baked breads - from ryes to farm
breads to soft pretzels was followed by a refreshing range of cold cuts.

However the star of the nights was the main course. Every carnivores dream the gastronomical
delicacies included meat carvings and carbohydrates. Bratwurst sausages, crispy shreds of pork belly,
dense bread dumplings, and mouth scrunching sauerkraut are just minor examples of what was to
come. For those out of their element eating these Bavarian delicacies, there is even an options like Fried
Fish and rotisserie chicken for your consumption.

Kudos also has to be given to the dessert range– from cheesecakes to apple strudels with a vanilla sauce
to German carrot cakes with side dressing of blue berry compote the food made up what was a
mouthwatering experience.

A tent packed full of jolly, spirited performances of the live Oompah band and serenaded by the karaoke of the public the festival was a righteous symbol of the renowned Bavarian fanfare of an Oktoberfest.

For those who are still to savour the fanfare  the  festivities will be on till November 18 from 7 pm to 9pm at the
Sports Centre Arena.  The elebrations will also take into account 25 years of the biggest Bavarian and beer festival in town.
