A radiant Visna Fernando was crowned Derana Goya Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Earth 2015 in a spectacular show on June 3.
Although the weather proved gloomy by the shores of Citrus Waskaduwa, inside, a dazzling display of beauty and glamour was being celebrated along with the reigning Miss Earth; Jamie Herrell who graced the occasion.
Sathma Nugera was adjudged first runner-up while Harshani Ruman was named second runner-up among the 12 contestants who took the runway. Ethereal dresses, fiery wings and elaborate headdresses along with theatrical choreography reflected the elements of nature with the contestants representing the elements of fire, wind, water and earth.
The use of traditional arts and motifs of Sri Lankan culture from fishing net veils to dresses embellished with beeralu and coconut fronds added local flavour to the pageant finale.
