Seventeen persons had been injured after two elephants ran amok during a perahera last night, police said.
The victims are receiving treatment at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital, the Colombo General Hospital, and the Sri Jayawardenapura General Hospital.
Police noted that the perahera had been organised by the Sri Jayawardanapura Kotte Raja Maha Viharaya.
