A driver was arrested by the Special Task Force on Tuesday (October 4) for cultivation of cannabis plants on the roof-top of his house.
Under the supervision of Area Commander ASP W. A. Charles Herath, the officers of the STF Haputale Camp including the Haputale OIC, IP R. M. L. S. Rajapakshe conducted a raid on a house situated on the Bandarawela-Diyatalawa road at 6AM on Tuesday.
A 41 year old driver by profession was subsequently arrested for cultivation of 14 cannabis plants on the top floor of his house, for a duration of around three months.
The suspect was handed over to the Bandarawela Police, who are to produce him to the Bandarawela Magistrate Court on Tuesday, while the Bandarawela Police are conducting further investigation.
