Seven people died from COVID-19 complications yesterday (2) increasing the death toll from the virus to 483, the Health Services Director General confirmed.
Out of the seven deaths, two were from Colombo 15, one each from Colombo 05 and Colombo 02. Other deaths were from Piliyandala, Pilimathalawa and Galewela. All the deceased were above 60 years of age. COVID pneumonia and long term chronic ailments such as kidney issues, respiratory illness, high blood pressure, chronic diabetes, cancer along with the virus have been stated as causes of death.
