A youth who was run over deliberately by a cab driver in Palai, Jaffna following a dispute has succumbed to his injuries, Palai Police said today (March 29).
The deceased with two other individuals had earlier attacked the cab driver at his house yesterday over a previous dispute and escaped.
The cab driver, wanting to lodge a complaint, was travelling to the Police in his cab, when he had spotted the individuals on the road. He had proceeded to run them over and arrive at the Police without stopping.
A 28 year old resident of Muhamalai who was run over had died after being admitted to the Palai Hospital.
The cab driver has been admitted to the Palai Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment under Police protection
