The implementation of the revised water tariff policy and formula, effective from 2025 has been approved by the Cabinet today (16).
This follows the proposal submitted by Minister of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development, Jeevan Thondaman, to the Parliament.
The proposal calls for the implementation of the revised policy and formula beginning in 2025.
The National Water Supply and Drainage Board's new tariff policy and formula was discussed at a Cabinet Meeting in April 2024, and after consulting with all pertinent stakeholders, the board was instructed to send the new tariff policy and formula with the necessary revisions.
