It is unfortunate that the country's law has been shaped in a way that it can be governed by the President and Prime Minister, Archbishop of Colombo Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith said.
He made the comments today while addressing the media at the Bandaranaike International Airport after arriving back in the country from the Vatican, where he had been invited by Pope Francis.
The Archbishop, who led a delegation of Catholic clergy as well as victims of the Easter Sunday terror attacks to the Vatican, stated that they conveyed their concerns to the Pope and added that a large number of Sri Lankans living in Italy also participated in the event.
He pointed out that the Pope had directly appealed to the country's leaders to ensure justice for the Easter attack victims and as such, the country's leaders should work while thinking about the country.
