The Civil Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill was passed in Parliament this evening (23) with amendments and without a vote.
The debate on the Second Reading of the Bill was held today from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm, following which amendments to the Bill were presented during the Committee Stage.
To amend the sections of the Civil Procedure Code (Chapter 101), the Minister of Justice, Prisons Affairs and Constitutional Reforms, Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, PC, presented the said Bill to Parliament on May 13.
Moreover, the Regulations under the Judicature Act published under the Gazette Extraordinary No. 2360/22 and 2371/13 were also approved by the Parliament today.
