Cuban Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mr. Andres Marcelo Gonzalez Gorrido, has announced that the Cuban government is keen on investing in the production of pharmaceuticals in Sri Lanka.
This was discussed during a meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday (15), where the ambassador conveyed the Cuban government’s greetings to Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
The discussion centered on further strengthening the 65-year-long diplomatic ties between Sri Lanka and Cuba.
It further covered the revival of mosquito control projects previously funded by Cuba, the expansion of scholarships for Sri Lankan students in medicine and sports, and increasing collaboration between training institutes and universities in both nations.
