Deputy General Manager of the CEB Lakshitha Weerasinghe, 57 passed away following a heart attack, a CEB official said.
Prior to his demise he was working as the Deputy General Manager (research and development branch) of CEB and prior to that, he was the DGM (Generation and Transmission planning).
He Joined CEB on 1996 and started his career as an operation Engineer at Samanalawewa Power Plant and had 28 years service in CEB.
He's been recognized as one of the best system control engineers and prior to being a great mentor for all new Engineers in CEB, he has given the responsibility to represent CEB in many technical forums on behalf of CEB.
His remains will be at A. F. Raymond's Borella from 7.00pm to 10.00pm today and from 8.00 am onward tomorrow.
Cremation will take place at 6.00pm Borella cemetery.
