The Election Commission will meet next week with Finance Ministry officials and the Government Printer to inquire from them when funds can be released for the election and when printing work related to the election can be concluded.
Once these government agencies explain their schedules to the EC, the Commission will announce a fresh date for the election, Commission Chairman Mr Nimal Punchihewa said.
Mr Punchihewa expressed confidence that a new date for the poll can be announced between March 7 and 9.
