The gunman involved in the shooting of a Buddhist monk in the Malwathu-Hiripitiya area has been arrested in Monaragala, Police said today.
Ven. Kalapaluwawe Dhammarathana Thera of the Kehelkanda Kahatana Sri Gnanarama Temple in Malwathu Hiripitiya was killed in February.
The gunman had been hiding in the Hambegamuwa area after the shooting.
Earlier a 22-year-old woman, a resident of Devagala area in Weragala was arrested in the Weragala area in Aralaganwila on suspicion over the charges of sheltering, aiding and abetting the main suspect in the shooting and for concealing information from the Police on the shooting incident.
