A discussion at the Finance Ministry today to end a token strike by Health workers ended without resolution.
The Alliance of Health Professions' proposal has been accepted, but they were told until the return of President Wickremesinghe from overseas a final decision could not be taken.
Accordingly the strike is to continue until eight am tomorrow.
A General Conference of the Alliance of Health Trade Unions is scheduled for January 18 to plan sustained professional action over the next 14 days, the Alliance said.
