The prices of school bags and shoes manufactured here will be reduced by 10 percent, State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said.
He said price reductions will come into effect from July 15.
The Minister said local manufacturers have agreed to reduce prices of bags and shoes by Rs. 350 to 450 and will consider further reductions if the rupee continues to appreciate against the US dollar.
