A 45-year-old man has been shot inside his shop in Uragasmanhandiya last night (14).
Police said the victim had been inside his shop when two men who had arrived on a motorbike had entered his shop and opened fire with a concealed firearm. They had thereafter fled on the motorbike.
The Elpitiya Magistrate has conducted a magisterial inquiry at the scene of the crime while the victim's body is currently at the Elpitiya Hospital pending a post-mortem examination. Urgasmanhandiya Police are investigating.
