The appointment of MP Rohitha Abeygunawardena as the Chairman of COPE has triggered more resignations with more to follow.
The latest to resign was MP Dayasiri Jayasekara.
The first to step down was Eran Wickremaratne.
Among those who have resigned from the COPE so far are: Heshan Vithanage, Prof Charitha Herath, Shanakiyan Rasamanickam, MPs S. M. Marikkar and Gamini Welaboda.
Following their resignations more are expected to step down.
