Musicians have called the government to permit them to conduct outdoor musical events until 1.00 a.m. on weekdays, instead of stopping them at 10.00 p.m.
Band leaders, outdoor event organisers, announcers at a combined press conference said that it was unfair to stop musical events at 10.00 p.m. and it was having an impact on their industry.
Band leader Neil Warnakulasuriya said that very often there are issues with the police when they have to stop the outdoor events at 10.00 p.m.
