The National Peoples Power (NPP) conducted a protest today night at Avissawella road near Anadara town at Kegalle. The protest was held against delaying of elections, increasing of cost of living and taxes.
The protesters held torches in hand and were calling slogans against the government calling the government to reduce taxes, drop high electricity charges and to hold elections preserving democratic rights of people.

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
