Two multi-day fishing trawlers have been seized by the Sri Lanka Navy with more than 200 kilograms of heroin and ice off the southern coast.
The seizure occurred last night and four local fishermen have been arrested along with the boats, the navy confirmed.
The seized trawlers and the suspects have been handed over to the police for further investigations. (PCK)
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
