A police constable of the Mount Lavinia police is to be produced in court today after being arrested on charges of aiding and abetting a constable from the same station who disappeared with his weapon.
The constable who went missing had taken along a T-56 assault rifle from the station's armoury. He had later left for Dubai.
Meanwhile the parents of the missing constable have been detained for questioning for 48 hours.
