Parliament to take up debate of PUCSL Chairman tomorrow

News

The Parliament would take up the debate on the proposal to remove the Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka, Janaka Ratnayake tomorrow.

The Minister of Media, Transport and Highways, Bandula Gunawardena announced in the weekly Cabinet briefing today (May 23) that the relevant parties would present the damages and losses incurred to the country by the decisions by Mr Ratnayake to the Parliament .

"He was a political appointment, but now he is not implementing the policy of the Government and acting according to a personal schedule against the experts", the Minister commented.

"If we had not taken some decisions opposed by such people, we would still have to wait days in fuel queues or cut electricity for 12 hours", the Minister further said.
