A SriLankan Seaman’s remarks made to an airhostess had far reaching consequences eventually leading to the missing of his flight from the Bandaranaike International Airport.
The seaman was about to board a flight to Dubai on Monday when the airhostess had told him that he could store one of the bags in the baggage storage area.
He had responded by saying since there was a bomb in it he was holding the bag with him.
The Airhostess had informed the pilot and in turn the Airport Security was informed about the remark made.
The passenger was taken into custody by the airport security and handed over to the police and his baggage was checked. But nothing suspicious was found.
The passenger had said his remark was a joke and did not realise the consequences .
He was severely warned and released. However he missed the flight.
He was due to travel to Dubai and board the ship which he was working.
