Police have launched a search in the Kelani river for the head of the decapitated body of the woman dumped in a travelling bag by a Police Sub Inspector who later committed suicide.
Police suspect that the man may have thrown a bag containing the head into the Kelani river prompting the search in the river. Police boats have been deployed for the search operation.
Meanwhile DNA test has been carried out to determine the identity of the body found in the bag. Samples of the family member are being checked.
