The fee charged for registration of private security agencies for the first time has been increased from Rs.15,000 to Rs.50,000.
A Gazette Extraordinary 2321/05 has been issued by President Ranil Wickremesinghe stating revised prices under the Regulation of Private Security Agencies Act, No. 45 of 1998.
Renewal of private security agencies registration will now cost Rs. 25,000, an increase from Rs.10,000 stated in a year 2018 gazette.
According to the latest gazette, late fee within one month of expiry of private security agency licence will be Rs.10,000 (previously Rs.1000) and Rs.25,000 will be charged as late fee within 31-90 days of expiry. Late fee over 90 days will now be Rs.35,000 whereas it was Rs.7500 previously.
