Seventeen former Kurunegala Pradeshiya Sabha members from the SLPP have announced their support for President Ranil Wickremesinghe in the upcoming presidential election after meeting with UNP Assistant Leader Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.
Appointment letters were presented to the newly appointed UNP District Organizers at the party’s headquarters, yesterday (19), with President Wickremesinghe present.
MP Ishak Rahuman, and former MPs P. Harrison and W. B. Ekanayake were assigned as District Organizers for Anuradhapura.
Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe, formerly with the Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU), was named as the Colombo District UNP Organizer, while former Deputy Minister Nishantha Muthuhettigamage was appointed as the Galle District UNP Organizer.
In total, 295 new District and Electoral Organizers were appointed.
