Showers and Thunder showers expected tomorrow
The Meteorology Department said that showers or thundershowers would occur at times in Eastern and Uva provinces and in Polonnaruwa, Matale, Nuwara-Eliya and Hambantota districts, tomorrow.
A duty forecaster told theTimes Online that several spells of showers would also occur in Northern Province and in Anuradhapura district.
The metrology department also said that several other places within the island would also experience Showers or thundershowers after 2.00 pm tomorrow.
“Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and in Ampara, Batticaloa and Hambanthota districts” he added.
The meteorology department also said that fairly strong winds about (30-40) kmph could be expected at times in Eastern slopes of the Central hills and in Northern, North-Central, North-western, Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
The public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
