The Railway Station Masters’ Union has warned the Government to launch a seven-day strike if fitting solutions to their issues are not provided by the Minister after their meeting scheduled on next Tuesday (16 May).
Sumedha Somaratne, President of the Station Masters' Union reconsidered the 24-hour strike launched yesterday (10 May) a success, adding that has faith that the Secretary to the Ministry will interpose in the matter at least this time and advise the General Manager of Railways on that account.
“If we are not given a proper heed, we are ready to gear up strong trade union movements at any cost”, Somaratne added, stressing that they are all set to take any required action within the next week.
