Super luxury cruise “Mein Schiff5” arrives at Colombo Port
Super luxury cruise ‘Mein Schiff 5’ with some 2000 passengers and 900 crew members arrived at the Colombo Port boosting the revival of the tourism industry in Sri Lanka.
Aitken Spence Travels the shore excursion partner for Mein Schiff 5 in Sri Lanka has offered a range of excursions for majority of the passengers covering a number of locations.
They include Colombo City tours, walking tours, panoramic Colombo tours, tuk-tuk tours, Muthurajawela boat safari tours, temple tours to Kelaniya, agro village, tea plantations, Sigiriya by air taxi, Galle day tours, beach breaks, Madu ganga river safaris and cultural shows.
Ahead of the arrival of the ship a group of threewheel drivers and tour guides opposed another group led by Attorney At law Nagahananda Kodithuwakku who were holding a protest at Galle Face. They claimed that such protests would be an obstacle to the tourist industry.
Hapag Lloyd Lanka, a subsidiary of the Aitken Spence Group, are the agents for TUI cruises. Mein Schiff 5 is owned by the German operator TUI cruises.
Mein Schiff 5 will also call over at the Port of Hambantota.

The Colombo High Court today (28) sentenced former parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra to three years of Rigorous Imprisonment over charges of the involvement of an abduction.
In his special statement, President Ranil Wickremesinghe announced that debt restructuring agreements will postpone all bilateral loan payments to foreign countries until 2028. Additionally, Sri Lanka will have until 2043 to repay these loans on concessional terms.
