Two female students from the Southern Campus of the General Sir John Kotalawala Defence University were killed and 41 others were injured when their bus toppled in Ambagahaoya, Dunhinda, Badulla today morning, Police said.
The students from the Southern Campus, located in Sooriyawewa were on a field trip to Badulla at the time of the accident. They were students following th Quantity Survey degree.
The injured consist of 36 students, three lecturers, the drriver and a soldier.
According to the Director of the Badulla hospital, Dr Hemantha de Silva, 10 of the injured are citical and six of them are in the ICU.
