Senior members of the United National Party (UNP) and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) have concluded another round of talks on the proposed reunification plans last night.
The meeting described to be ‘successful’ was attended by the UNP General Secretary Thalatha Athukorale and SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara. Other senior members from both sides also attended the meeting held at the Residence of SJB MP Harshana Rajakaruna.
Both General Secretaries said that the discussions were moving ahead successfully.
“We will be contesting elections together”, Mr Madduma Bandara told journalists.
Ms Athukorale said that discussions were moving ahead well.
MPs Gayntha Karunatillake and Kabir Hashim were among those representing the SJB while former Minister Harin Fernando represented the UNP.
