Special religious observances for the repose of the souls lost during the Easter Sunday carnage were held today (May 21) a month after the deadly attacks which claimed the lives of hundreds and injured many.
Church bells were rung at St. Anthony's Church in Kotahena and St. Sebastian's Church in Katuwapitiya at 8:45 am today - symbolic of the time during which the attacks occured last month.
Devotees visited these churches and engaged in religious rituals by lighting candals in memory of the lives which were lost during the deadly terrorist attacks.
Meanwhile, a special religious ceremony is set to take place at the Zion Church in Batticaloa this evening to pray for the victims of the attacks.
The Zion Church was also one among the three Churches which were hit by the blasts last month.
