The Attorney General will take measures to institute legal action against Minister Ravi Karunanayake for providing false evidence before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Bond Scam issue.
Senior State Counsel Lakmini Girihagama informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court during a hearing.
Mr. Karunanayake will be charged for submitting false evidence while testifiying before the Presidential Commission which was appointed to probe into the Central Bond Scam.
The Senior State Counsel told Chief Magisrate Lanka Jayaratne that certain documents concerning Global Transportation and Logistics (Pvt) Ltd which is owned by Minister Karunanayake, have not been received as of yet.
The State Counsel also said that the case would be filed after obtaining the relevant documents and also recording statements from Mr. Karunanayake and his daughter.
Accordingly, Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne adjourned court sittings in the case until July 29.
