The Cinnamon Gardens Police today filed a charge sheet at the Colombo Chief Magistrate's court against Western Provincial Councilor Upali Kodikara on using criminal force to deter a police officer from carrying out his duty. Since Kodikara pleaded not guilty, the case was fixed for January 18. On October 19, UPFA Western Provincial Council Member Upali Kodikara was arrested by Cinnamon Gardens Police for obstructing police duty. He was released on bail a few days later.
Ajith Gallage, the owner of a Bird Park in Nagarawawa, Hambantota, has been remanded over allegations of concealing illegally imported motorcycles, in a warehouse owned by him.
