The Colombo High Court today affirmed a previous court verdict which acquitted Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera and 12 others over the attack of a Church in Thalahena.
Gnanasara Thera and 12 others who were named as the accused over the attack of a Church in 2008, were declared not guilty by the High Court on April 02, 2014.
However, the Attorney General had challenged the verdict by filing an appeal petition before the Appeal Court. Subsequently the appeal was withdrawn by the AG.
Accordingly, the Colombo High Court today reaffirmed its previous verdict and ordered the release of the suspects who were named as defendants in the case.
