The deadline to submit applications for the G C E Ordinary Level (O/L) examinations this year has been extended until May 31, the Department of Examinations said.
State sector employees who are applying for the exams will be able to certify their applications from the heads of their respective authorities, Exams Commissioner General Sanath Pujitha said.
This could be done if the applicants are unable to certify their applications from the Grama Niladhari officers in their respective divisions, Mr. Pujitha noted.
The intital deadline for the submission of applications was set to end on May 24 after applications were released on May 05.
Meanwhile, a special hotline will be in operation on '1911' to obtain information concerning the exams, the Examinations Department said in a release.
