The Defence Ministry has approved a 90-day detention order on the Parliament staffer who was arrested recently over his links with National Thowheed Jamath (NTJ) group leader Zahran Cassim.
The Parliament employee was arrested by a special police team in Alawathugoda last Saturday, and will be questioned during the detention period.
Jamal D. Naushad, the suspect, had served as an employee in the Parliament for more than a decade.
