The Cabinet Committee on Economic Management (CCEM) has appointed two personalities from the industry to guide and advise the committee overseeing the long-delayed digital cum global tourism campaign to promote Sri Lanka.
Dilmah Founder Merrill J. Fernando and Vallibel One Founder Director Dhammika Perera have been appointed from the industry to coordinate the work with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) on these two key promotional campaigns that are long overdue.
Dilmah Chairman Fernando told the Business Times on Monday that he was appointed just last week and said he would be attending the first meeting this Thursday.
He added that it was previously been carried out by very few who know of the subject and stated that now the chairman of the SLTPB will get the correct guidance to carry out the work.
Those overseeing the work of the digital marketing campaign and the global promotional campaign of Sri Lanka Tourism is a team of persons appointed by the CCEM namely : Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority Chairman Kavan Ratnayake, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Chairman Udaya Nanayakkara, Public Private Partnership task force appointee Thilan Wijesinghe, Dilmah Founder Merrill J. Fernando and industry personality Dhammika Perera.
