An individual who is wanted over a double murder case was taken into custody by Naval authorities last night in Point Pedro when he tried to escape to India by fishing boat, Navy said.
The suspect was identified Navaratnarasa Kuganeswaran from Trincomalee who was allegedly involved in a double murder incident.
Preliminary investigations by Naval authorities revealed that the suspect hired a fisherman in Point Pedro to organize an illegal passage to India in order to escape from being convicted by a court in the country. Along with the murder suspect, the person who organized the trip also was taken into custody by Navy.
