The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) today arrested the Chief Inspector (CI) in charge of the Ampara Police garage for allegedly concealing evidence related to the bomb blast in Sainthamaruthu on April 26 last year.
Preliminary investigations into the Easter Sunday attacks revealed that the Sainthamaruthu explosion using a motorbike was used as a mock experiment by terrorists before carrying out the attacks on Easter Sunday. According to the Police, the police officer had been serving as the Head of the Traffic Division of the Kalawanchchikudi Police at the time of the incident.
