Senior Police officials have been called for a meeting at the Election Commission (EC) today (Oct 2), a senior Commission official said.
Matters concerning special traffic plans and security arrangements on the day of the presidential election on November 16 are to be discussed at the meeting.
The official said that between 600 - 1000 police personnel are expected to be deployed during the election.
The Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police and the Superintendent for the Western Province, Officer-in-charge of the Welikada Police division, and senior Special Task Force officers are expected to attend the meeting.
