Five persons were injured after a defender vehicle belonging to the Prime Minister's Security Division collided with a three-wheeler at Katuneriya last night.
Police said the defender had been carrying Special Task Force (STF) personnel attached to the Prime Minister's Security Division. The incident had occurred while the vehicles were traveling along the Chilaw-Colombo Main Road.
The five injured persons were the STF Constable who was driving the vehicle as well as four youths aged 17, 20, 21 and 28 who were in the three-wheeler. They were all admitted to the Marawila Hospital. One critically injured person was later transferred to the Colombo National Hospital.
Marawila Police are investigating.
