Four people died in a head-on collision involving a tipper-truck and a van in Nagawilluwa at around 1:45 am today (Mar 18).
The accident had taken place along the Colombo - Puttalam road when the tipper truck which was travelling from Colombo to Jaffna had collided with the van which was heading in the opposite direction.
A total of eight persons including the driver of the van were admitted to the Puttalam hospital following which four had died.
The driver of the tipper truck has been taken into custody by the police for further investigations.
