Four suspects were arrested with kerala cannabis during a party organised by a group of youths through Facebook in Hatton last night.
Excise officers who had made the arrest, had also recovered an additional 5.9 grams of kerala cannabis, cocaine, narcotic pills, and some unidentified narcotics, from the venue of the party.
According to Excise officials, the suspects whose ages had been identified between 16 and 30, were among a 400-member crowd which had attended the party.
The suspects are from Wanagoda, Piliyandala, Kandy, and Panadura. They are due to be produced before the Hatton courts.
Hatton Excise Superintendent I.J.A. Perera pointed out that some youths had been accompanied by their parents to the party, and therefore urged parents to exercise extreme caution over such events since the youth could be drawn towards narcotics.
